This track is part of my "4-track Set," along with Sullen, AprilShowers, and others. I wanted to get the most out of the XL and VS840, to make my 'last' hip-hop record...so all the beats are super stripped down/bare.
Dipped to the West Side (St. Louis, Page and Minerva area) and picked up the most purely talented cat I know, Tarrzand Medina, and smuggled him to the studio. We'd been talking about tracks (and actually have had heated conversations about hip-hop, politics, and the nexus of the two in this song; the result of which was me panning both arguable positions in the 2nd verse ;-) and recording together since our Midwest Avengers days in the middle 90's, and it was time to make it happen.
We get to Penny Studios, and drop these verses and adlibs. His "laugh" intro is a reaction to my freestyled lead, and dropped it--one take--HOT.

One of my chief complaints in hip Hop is that nobody really dares to be truly different. These guys? They lay it on the line. I know: I'm late to the party, but prolly my most favorite spin right now. AddVerb Superb
